HOW UNION HOME VISITS WORK

Union home visits usually begin around 4:00 pm and go until 9:30 pm on weekdays and usually all day on weekends, with union organizers knocking on as many doors as possible in that period.

During a union "blitz campaign," a union will send in paid organizers from multiple states to "blitz" a town or city by swarming unsuspecting employees at their homes.

Depending on the number of shifts that employees work, home visits can go around the clock, and they will not stop until the union's quota is met—usually set by the international union's organizing department at around 75% of signed union authorization cards.

The main purpose of a union home visit is to get inside your home in order to get a union authorization card signed.

Union organizers are well trained in two areas:

(1) To never accept "no" as an answer, and

(2) To use the highest-pressure tactics in sales to accomplish their goal.

If you are a union target, you will not know when they’re coming, and they will continue coming after you and your co-workers until they reach their goal of 75% signed union authorization cards from you and your co-workers.  Union organizers do not have to be honest about what the union's authorization card actually means and can actually misrepresent the authorization card's purpose.
