THE STEELWORKERS STRIKE RECORD
A Long History of Long Strikes

Over a 20-year period (from 1988 through 208) the United Steelworkers engaged in many long and bitter strikes.  In fact, according to the data compiled, the USW engaged in a total of 828 strikes, averaging 44 days out.

With these strikes affecting approximately 229,373 USW-represented workers, that total is more than 30% of the USW's current membership today.

Below are the top 50 strikes (in order of the length of days out on strike) that the USW has been involved in:
